I tried dropping the hint to Vaughn that we should detour the rest of the way home through Arizona.
Unfortunately, as he ages, he seems to be losing his hearing – he didn’t seem to catch that and we are still heading due west…

Yikes. I wouldn’t want to go back home yet. Hopefully it really only lasts a day. It’s been so nice in Washington this year, I assumed it had been nice in other states, too.
I just read your interview in the Fulltime Families magazine and came over to check out your blog! We are in the process of getting ready to live on the road. Our house is up for sale and once it sells we are going. It’s great to read about families who are already doing it. It helps to keep us motivated!
