The whole reason we are heading east…

We’ve told everyone that we are going east this winter, but not why.   We ‘did Florida’ and the east coast(ish) last winter, and while we enjoyed it, it is a lot of fuel from Montana, and the FL rat-race isn’t really our cup of tea (tho we LOVE Big Cypress).   😉

But we ARE heading east again.  For one very special reason.
See this handsome man?

greg

That’s our oldest son, Greg.   :)
Greg is in the Army National Guard.
And he’s being deployed.
Afghanistan.
March.

And we’re really happy for him because it’s something he really wants to do (but not for us because we are REALLY going to miss him!).  Our soldier has 4 days off, in February, before he leaves the country – but he can only travel up to 250 miles from the fort that he is stationed at for the next month and a half (on the east coast).  So, because he can’t come see us during his short leave, we’ll go see him.
Have wheels will travel.  😀greg2We will also head up to where he is at when he is scheduled to deploy in hopes of seeing him a bit before he actually leaves.
In the meantime, we will spend a few weeks in Florida catching up with friends :) , then head north to wait on our soldier.
Proudly wait on our soldier.   <3

  1. Kerri Tidwell says:

Thank you, Greg, for your service to our country! Your family will miss you terribly, but they must be so very proud of you! May God watch over and protect you. I will be praying for you.

Dana, you will all be in my prayers…

  2. Awww, thanks Tonya. That IS a pretty emotional time when they tell you they are going off to boot camp! It was hard for me, but it was also good. Lately I’ve been wondering how I’ll handle it when I know it’s the last time I’m going to see Greg before he flies out – I’ll probably embarrass him; I’m a crybaby.
You know, you can always call me if you want to talk. :) Dana
