TOS Review…Creation Illustrated magazine…

One of the few things that we have given up for our On The Road lifestyle, is magazines – getting magazines in the mail anyway.  Most of the time, by the time that our mail has been forwarded, the magazine news articles are grossly out of date, and we are too busy to be interested in fluff reading of other articles.  There is one magazine, however, that I consider to be worth the cost, wait, and forwarding… Creation Illustrated! We used to receive Creation Illustrated years ago, but let it lapse one year when Vaughn wasn’t very busy in his business, and I forgot all about it.  When the TOS crew was offered the chance to review the magazine, I really wanted to be one of the reviewers!  I knew that the kids (and us bigs) had loved the magazine years ago, and was both curious to see how (if) the magazine had changed over the years, and to share it with the littles too.  When we recieved our issues, I wasn’t disappointed!  The magazine is just as full of beautiful photos and uplifting, interesting,  educational articles as ever!

From the magazine:
Our purpose…
is to share the ownders of God’s creation.  By revealing fresh insights of His infinite wisdom, gentle touch, indeniable justice, redeeming love, and flawless design, pure truth shall bring renewed peace.  Each part of this publication is offered as a reprieve from the daily rigors of life so that all can look to the future with unbridled gratitude and hope.
Creation Illustrated is the christian alternative to Nat. Geo.; but you don’t have to wade through the evolution, worldview, or nudity to enjoy the well-written articles and beautiful photography.  There are fun bonuses like a page of healthy recipes, a quarterly photo contest for youth (5-15), and a story geared specifically towards children in every issue.  There is also a 2 page instructional guide included with each issue to help integrate the spiritual lessons that are found through the study of God’s handiwork via the nature articles in the magazine: questions, activities, and a word search.
Creation Illustrated is an encouraging, uplifting publication, geared towards ages 5 and up…  Our issues were read/looked at by EVERY member of my family (well, except Caleb, who would have eaten it if we let him ;)).   Even the 2 little non-readers would pull C.I. out and sit on the floor and look at them for 20 minutes at a time.

Peanut and Molly admire all the lovely photos!

I am really rather bummed that we haven’t been getting them all this time!

Creation Illustrated is offered at a subscription cost of $19.95/yr ($37.95/2yr. or $53.95/3yr.), delivered quarterly.   And if this magazine sounds like it may appeal to your family, head on over to Creation Trial Issue where you can sign up to receive a free issue as part of a trial subscription.Photobucket

Disclaimer:  I was provided with 4 issues of Creation Illustrated in exchange for a review of the magazine.  All opinions and statements are my own  ;).
